In the past year as a result of Meta statements and the involvement of companies such as Microsoft, interest in opportunities related to the metaverse has grown exponentially. The reason is quickly explained: in Italy alone last year 15.5 million people, or 35% of the country's population aged 6-64, spent part of their free time in a virtual world. An industry that, worldwide, aims to reach $800 billion by 2024. In this meeting together with Digital Mosaik, a Metaverse Studio specializing in the development of virtual worlds, we will learn about the "who, what and how" of the metaverse by analyzing the developments, Meta's activity and possibilities for understanding its evolutions and directing future strategies, with a focus in particular on the use of virtual reality in the cultural sphere.
The event belongs to the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) in Trentino design seminar series by the DRLab of the Department of Humanities.
