Fed up with the beauty around you? Do you love the Weird? Are you looking for alternative architectural currents?
Architerror is the place for you. With this programmatic statement, Architerror-the dark side of architecture-lands in tranquil Trentino-South Tyrol sowing panic among aesthetic currents of thought and architectural styles, more or less modern.
But what is, or rather, who is Architerror? How fine is the line between harmony and kitsch, between conformity and singularity, and, ultimately, but what is beauty, in architecture and more broadly?
This first Tridentine Architerror 'lecture' aims to provoke a conversation about the built environment, between beauty, meaning, roles and expectations.
Architerror, which began as a game among friends, has quickly become a reference point for the study of the B side of architecture, where B stands for ugly, but also bizarre. And it is no coincidence that the subtitle is "The Dark Side of Architecture," because Architerror deals with the less exposed architecture, the kind you don't find in glossy magazines, but which exists and is much more widespread than you might imagine.
