DESIGN PROBES
Design probes are design-based exploratory tools applied to design contexts to comprehensively understand the features that influence design data and dynamics.
Probes are applied following these steps:
01. Probe design
At this stage, the planned actions are:
- Target identification;
- context assessment;
- Analysis of opportunities and application limitations;
- design of the application set consisting of tools adapted from the literature or ad hoc designed tools;
- Preparation of resources for the next phase.
02. Application of the probe
At this stage, the planned actions are:
- Activation of the actions planned in the previous phase;
- Supporting and monitoring the progress of the probe;
- Preparation of tools and resources to develop the next phase.
03. Data Analysis.
At this stage, the planned actions are:
- Analysis of the data collected by the probe with additional instruments designed in the previous phase;
- arrangement and generation of outputs, dissemination materials and summary documents to facilitate the reading of the analyzed data.
